Product Introduction
A virus called "gill virus" (GAV) was once discovered in Australia, which is very similar in nucleic acid sequence and virus structure to the yellow headed virus found in Thailand. It can only infect spotted shrimp (grass shrimp) in Australia, and although it can cause a high mortality rate (about 80%) of spotted shrimp (grass shrimp), it is not very similar to the symptoms of the yellow headed virus. There have been cases of vertical infection of gill viruses in the Australian region, where parents have infected their offspring. The most effective way to prevent gill viruses is to use PCR pre screened virus-free species of shrimp to lay eggs, raise seedlings, or release SPF (non specific virus) seedlings. The water quality of the aquaculture environment also needs to be strictly controlled and not contaminated by viruses.
