Product Usage: Used for separating Gram negative intestinal bacteria, especially coliform and fecal coliform groups.
Test principle of eosin methylene blue agar (EMB) medium: Peptone provides carbon and nitrogen sources; Lactose is a fermentable sugar of the Escherichia coli group; Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate is a buffer; Agar is a medium coagulant; Eosin and methylene blue are antibacterial agents and pH indicators that can inhibit Gram positive bacteria, produce precipitation under acidic conditions, and form purple black colonies or peripheral colorless and transparent colonies with black centers.
Usage: Take a bag of this product, add 200mL of distilled or deionized water, stir, heat, and boil until completely dissolved, and sterilize under high pressure at 121 ℃ for 15 minutes. Wait for the culture medium to cool to around 50 ℃, perform aseptic operation, pour into a sterile plate, wait for solidification, and set aside.
