Purpose:
Used for the cultivation and hemolysis test of bacteria with high nutritional requirements
Principle:
Polyvalent peptone provides carbon and nitrogen sources, vitamins, and growth factors; Starch can promote the growth of Neisseria and enhance the hemolytic properties of Streptococcus; Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; Agar is a coagulant for culture medium.
Formula (per liter):
Peptone 10g
Beef extract powder 10g
Sodium chloride 5g
Agar 15g
80ml of Defibrated Sheep or Rabbit Blood
Final pH 7.4 ± 0.2
Usage:
1. Take the fresh pure culture of the bacteria to be tested and streak or coat it onto a flat plate, and place it in an incubator with the required temperature for cultivation for the specified time.
2. Observation results.
