Type IV collagenase, dry powder 1g
Collagenase is a protease that specifically recognizes the Pro X-Gly Pro sequence and cleaves the bonds between the neutral amino acids (X) and glycine (Gly) in the sequence. Many proteases can hydrolyze single stranded and denatured collagen peptides, but collagenase is the only protease that can degrade natural collagen fibers with a triple helix structure, which are widely present in connective tissue.
Collagenases are divided into types I, Il, III, IV, and liver cell specific collagenase, and the type of collagenase should be selected based on the type of tissue to be separated and digested.
This product is derived from Clostridium histolyticum, a crude enzyme extract with enzyme activity>125CDU/mg solid (CDU=collagen digestion units), and is particularly suitable for the digestion of pancreatic tissue.
